TAYLOR'S 9TH BIRTHDAY

Every year Taylor wants to have his birthday party at the BMX Track, this has been a running tradition for the past 4 years! This year we decided to do it earlier in the morning so it wouldn't be too hot! Taylor had about 15 kids show up and they just rode around (I love having parties here too because you don't have to plan any games, they just ride!).

I think this was Taylor's favorite present! He got some remote control cars, legos, a skateboard, cool magnets from Grandma, money, and some other fun stuff.

I can't believe my little Taylor is nine already. He is such a blessing to our family. I can always count on him to be a peacemaker and watch out for his sister. He also has the cutest smile that you can't help but smile back at! We love you Tay!

BEAR LAKE

For vacation this year we went to Bear Lake with some friends and we had a blast! We camped at Bear Lake Hot Springs from Wednesday through Sunday. We went down to the beach at about 9:00 every morning and spent the day tubing, wakeboarding or just relaxing in the sun.


The kids didn't even care if the boat was moving, they just loved playing on the tube, jumping back and forth!



Mason let the kids bury him. We had so much sand everywhere! If the kids weren't out playing in the water they were digging in the sand.

We learned not to taunt Doug while on the tube (no putting your hands in the air, hands behind your head or playing the air guitar (Katie!) It took him a while to knock us off, but when he did we all went flying! We flew off and I hit my head so hard I had no idea which way was up in the water! I told them that next time I was going to wear a helmet (they know I am all about safety!).

This is what we did every night after coming back from the beach. Toasted coconut marshmallows are my favorite! The kids also liked hearing Lance's bear stories.

This was my first time ever trying to wakeboard and I got up my second time.

I think this was Lance's first time wakeboarding too, but he is good at everything he tries.

ANOTHER YEAR OLDER!

For my 32nd (I can't believe I am that old, I truly feel like I am 24!) birthday this year Lance tried really hard to throw me a surprise party, but he knows that I always find out what he is doing! I love that he tried though. We had friends and family come over for a BBQ, cake, and ice cream.



I knew that I would be embarrassed opening some presents. I am not even going to mention what I am holding in my hands, my face is RED though! I have great friends that sure know how to have a FUN time!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we headed down to Lance's parents house for a fun filled day of activities! We got up at 6:30 in the morning to get ready for the fun run.


The Cannon Family's first 5K run! This is the us before the race started. Lance and I have ran 5K races before but this was the first for the kids and a first for us as a family. We went running while Grandma and Grandpa Cannon and the rest of the family went for a pancake breakfast.


Mason and Taylor did a fantastic job running. They ran together the whole way.


This is my running buddy Alyssa. We decided that Lance would go full out and run hard, the boys would run together and Alyssa and I would stay together. We got about a fourth of a mile when Lysa asked me if we were done yet, I knew it was going to be a long race. She did pretty good though. When she got tired I just put her on my back for a little rest and then she was down and running again! She was the youngest one and the fastest one to finish the race for her age and won a $50 savings bond! I am so proud of you Lysa!!


Lance and I at the end of the race. Lance kicked butt, he finished in 22 minutes (which I think is fantastic!) He came in 26th place out of 160 participants.

We went to the Sagebrush Days Parade in Buhl and I have never seen so many tractors in my life. This is the best one though because he was doing tricks! The parade was so spread out that the kids thought it was over and then three minutes later here came another float.

In Buhl they had a trout scramble where the kids had to catch the fish by their hands. There were so many kids, it was total CHAOS! Taylor is in the middle, in the blue, with a fish in his hands. He caught 5 of them! Alyssa wasn't too excited to catch the fish, so she just watched with me and daddy.

Mason and some kid were in competition for this one, but Mason ended up hanging onto it. He ended up catching two fish before someone told us they were only supposed to catch one, oops.

We ended up coming home Saturday night to watch the fireworks because Lance and I both had to teach lessons on Sunday (all I can say is that it was hard getting up Sunday morning to make it to church on time!) The kids riding around in the UPS parking lot before the fireworks started.

We had such a great time at the fireworks!

Lazy Summer Days!

This is what we do pretty much every day in the summertime, as long as it is not raining! The kids swim and I read all the books that I have saved up for the summer!

The kids love their snorkel gear and are getting pretty good at swimming, I just need to put Lysa in swimming lessons still.

Another day of fishing!

Today we went to Lone Pine Nursery for free fishing day! They had prizes, food, music and of course fishing! They stocked their pond with 1,000 fish.

Mason and Taylor were the first ones to reel in their fish.

I actually caught a fish, which Alyssa helped me reel in.

We caught a total of 6 fish. The limit was two fish per kid.

They had a grand prize for whoever could catch the biggest fish. Taylor caught this 19 inch fish just five minutes too late, he would have got 2nd place, but they gave him a prize worth $50 anyways so he was really excited! Mason and Alyssa also won prizes, Mason won a fishing pole and a pizza and Alyssa won some free ice cream and Craigo's food. It was such a fun day, we will have to do this again next year!

Little League Night

We took the kids and Dylan to the Chukars baseball game. We got there and there were so many people there we didn't sit in the stands. We ended up sitting at the tables by first base, which ended up being the best seats for the kids. The first thing we saw when we got there was a foul ball smashing in a car's back window!




The kids would lean over the fence and when the players were going to warm up they would give the kids high fives! They thought that was the best thing ever!


They brought their mitts to catch foul balls and they ended up having the mascot and some of the players sign them. Dylan didn't have his mitt so they just signed his arm instead, I don't think he has washed his arm since then!

At the end of the game they let the kids run around the bases. The kids had so much fun at this game, it was a little league night so tons of kids were there and they had a blast!
