Rigby Lake

Besides swimming at the Apple we go to Rigby Lake a lot too. They have a dock with a slide that the kids love. I think the water is freezing, but that doesn't stop the kids.

Taylor's 10th Birthday

My little Tay is 10 years old! I couldn't ask for a better kid. For his birthday breakfast he wanted pancakes with chocolate chips, how could I say no to that. Tay totally takes after me. He says, "Mom I just feel like some chocolate!" He makes me laugh.


He had his cousins spend the night, Teg, Tray and Talen. These guys are the best of buddies. We are so lucky that they live close by.


We went to the Apple Athletic Club to have a pool party this year and all of his friends and most of his cousins came. I am glad that there was a lifeguard out there and not just me watching out for all of them.


It started out as a horrible rainy cold day and I thought we were going to have to cancel the party and have it some place else, but at the last minute the clouds blew over and out came the sun! It was still a bit cool, but the kids all piled into the hot tub and still had a great time. The best thing was that we had the whole pool to ourselves, I guess other members thought it was a bad day and decided to stay home.


Taylor ended up with a ton of presents which included video games, DS accessories, candy, games, pool stuff, and a lot of money, which he has been using to save up for a Ipod Touch. Happy Birthday Tay, you are such a wonderful kid!

Just another year older

Okay, so I wasn't excited for this year's birthday, but my friend Katie threw me a birthday party anyway. Thanks Katie!!



Oh, what a game! This game has been banned from all game nights around here. There is nothing celestial about this game :) We keep passing it back and forth hoping that somebody actually keeps it.


Despite the fact that I was feeling old (33 years old) and just wanted to hang out, it was a pretty fun party with good friends.

Drive-in

We LOVE the drive-in, well the kids and I do, Lance not so much. We go about a couple of times a month when they change the movies. We go so much that the lady at the drive-in knows who we are.


We lay down all the seats and take out the back ones and make it into a huge bed with tons of pillows and blankets, get treats and drinks, and just chill!

Cheer Camp

This was a while ago, but the girls did a cheer camp hosted by Hillcrest High School, and the girls absolutely loved it. Alyssa went with Macee, Lizzy, and Hannah. They learned cheers and did a dance. What cute girls!

Where has the summer gone?

I am way behind on my blog this summer. We have just been playing pretty much every day. I usually work in the mornings so we can have the rest of the day off. We have been swimming at the pool at the Apple, swimming at Rigby Lake, running at the school and track, funeral in Washington, catching up on all of my books I have wanted to read (I have read about 40-50 books this summer, I LOVE TO READ), birthdays, summer vacation at Bear Lake, fishing, camping, family reunions, fishing (ya I know I said it AGAIN!), hanging with extended family, getting ready to go on another mini vacation with the kids, and just being together as a family. I am not ready at all for school to start for either the kids or I. I am not even going to think about school supply shopping or clothes shopping for at least another week and a half. I will hopefully post some pictures soon...

RESPECT THE SEGWAY!

For Lance's Birthday a group of us rented Segways and it was probably the hardest we have laughed in a long time! The laughing started when we each took turns learning how to ride them in the parking lot. We rode around Snake Rivers Landing and by the greenbelt, where we played follow the leader, Jared herded ducks, and tried not to fall or crash into each other by stopping too fast. We then rode over to the Olive Garden for dinner, where Lance got some very interesting birthday presents, thanks you guys!


Lance and I riding the Segways. We all were like little kids with big smiles riding these things around. Some of us were more daring than others (Nita!) I would have to say that Lance was probably the most skilled with Jared and Doug right behind him. I think the hardest thing was getting off, if you didn't do it right it would run you over or put you spinning in circles, which Katie demonstrated for us :) Also, if we got going to fast it would tip you back and that is how you stop by pulling back, so it felt like you were going to tip over.


This is Katie trying to go up a hill and we have no idea how she got into this position, but we were laughing so hard! Our word for the night was "RESPECT", Nita learned this the hard way. She had 3 good falls and the bruises to prove it, plus the one that her Segway gave Jared. By the end of the night she wasn't as daring as when she first started out. Nita took some pictures and when I get these I will post them too.


I am proud to say that I didn't fall off, I just jumped off once going up the hill to save myself from crashing and took Nita out with my tires!


Afterwards we took the Segways back to the Russell's and let the kids ride them around. They put us to shame, they hopped right on and took off. The only accident they had was when Macee and Lexi crashed into each other, they take after their mom!!

This is definitely something that we will do again! Happy Birthday Lance, we all had a great time!
