Roadtrip

My Aunt Linda passed away and it had been about 20 years since we have seen our cousins and extended family so Me, Shan, Ed, and Cam decided to drive to Washington to be able to attend her funeral and see family.


It was a very long drive, but Ed and Cameron kept us entertained. I learned some stuff about these guys on our trip. We had to take Ed's big truck because it was not cool to take a small car. Actually it was really nice that we did so we could have some room to stretch out and watch movies. I learned that Ed is OCD about his truck and can't listen to one song greater than 30 seconds. Cameron was the seat belt police and guilted Ed and Shan into wearing their seat belts. Shanda has the smallest bladder and the boys teased her about this a LOT!


We left Idaho Falls at about 5:30 PM and got to Selah, Washington at about 2:30 or so. We all stayed awake the whole time and kept each other up. On the way back it was harder to stay awake, but Rockstar drinks are very good for this. I was pretty much wired after drinking mine, too bad Ed wouldn't let me drive his truck, I was wide awake!


We saw this store on the way back from Washington and it reminded me of Lance so I had to take a picture of it.

It was a sad way to get to see my cousins and extended family, but I loved seeing them again and catching up.

Rigby Lake

Besides swimming at the Apple we go to Rigby Lake a lot too. They have a dock with a slide that the kids love. I think the water is freezing, but that doesn't stop the kids.

Taylor's 10th Birthday

My little Tay is 10 years old! I couldn't ask for a better kid. For his birthday breakfast he wanted pancakes with chocolate chips, how could I say no to that. Tay totally takes after me. He says, "Mom I just feel like some chocolate!" He makes me laugh.


He had his cousins spend the night, Teg, Tray and Talen. These guys are the best of buddies. We are so lucky that they live close by.


We went to the Apple Athletic Club to have a pool party this year and all of his friends and most of his cousins came. I am glad that there was a lifeguard out there and not just me watching out for all of them.


It started out as a horrible rainy cold day and I thought we were going to have to cancel the party and have it some place else, but at the last minute the clouds blew over and out came the sun! It was still a bit cool, but the kids all piled into the hot tub and still had a great time. The best thing was that we had the whole pool to ourselves, I guess other members thought it was a bad day and decided to stay home.


Taylor ended up with a ton of presents which included video games, DS accessories, candy, games, pool stuff, and a lot of money, which he has been using to save up for a Ipod Touch. Happy Birthday Tay, you are such a wonderful kid!

Just another year older

Okay, so I wasn't excited for this year's birthday, but my friend Katie threw me a birthday party anyway. Thanks Katie!!



Oh, what a game! This game has been banned from all game nights around here. There is nothing celestial about this game :) We keep passing it back and forth hoping that somebody actually keeps it.


Despite the fact that I was feeling old (33 years old) and just wanted to hang out, it was a pretty fun party with good friends.

Drive-in

We LOVE the drive-in, well the kids and I do, Lance not so much. We go about a couple of times a month when they change the movies. We go so much that the lady at the drive-in knows who we are.


We lay down all the seats and take out the back ones and make it into a huge bed with tons of pillows and blankets, get treats and drinks, and just chill!

Cheer Camp

This was a while ago, but the girls did a cheer camp hosted by Hillcrest High School, and the girls absolutely loved it. Alyssa went with Macee, Lizzy, and Hannah. They learned cheers and did a dance. What cute girls!

Where has the summer gone?

I am way behind on my blog this summer. We have just been playing pretty much every day. I usually work in the mornings so we can have the rest of the day off. We have been swimming at the pool at the Apple, swimming at Rigby Lake, running at the school and track, funeral in Washington, catching up on all of my books I have wanted to read (I have read about 40-50 books this summer, I LOVE TO READ), birthdays, summer vacation at Bear Lake, fishing, camping, family reunions, fishing (ya I know I said it AGAIN!), hanging with extended family, getting ready to go on another mini vacation with the kids, and just being together as a family. I am not ready at all for school to start for either the kids or I. I am not even going to think about school supply shopping or clothes shopping for at least another week and a half. I will hopefully post some pictures soon...
