LOVE IS IN THE AIR!
Taylor came home from school yesterday with some "love notes" that he received from Jessica Cook and Kylee Perkins. They were so cute that I had to post them on our blog. I am sure this will embarrass him when he gets older, but I couldn't help myself. What a ladies man Taylor is! You can click on the image to get a better view. If you notice he put "No" on one and on the other he put "Yes!" I thought he would be kind of shy about these, but he just handed them to me saying look what happened at school today!

VALENTINE'S DAY
Instead of Lance and I just going out for Valentine's Day this year we decided to celebrate as a family. While Lance was at work the kids and I set up a special candlelit dinner for him. We had a heart shaped pizza and set the table with the special china. Taylor called it "fine dining!" After dinner we had a movie night too. We watched Journey to the Center of the Earth, ate popcorn and snacks. We were all stuffed by the time it was all over! It was a fun night just being together as a family. I love you guys!
Lance got me a Twilight hoodie (it says BITTEN) for Valentine's Day and I love it!!

DOLL PARTY
Alyssa has been having so much fun playing with Nellie, her doll, that she got for Christmas. She even had some friends over and their dolls too, to have a tea party. They had fun dressing them up in different outfits and doing their hair.
Alyssa, Lizzy, Sidnee and their dolls. I even let them use the real china for their tea party! After cookies and lemonade we made hair bows for their dolls to wear. I think I had as much fun as the girls did.

Another Tag "BABY"
1.Where were you when you first found out that you were pregnant? In the bathroom. Where else? (I like your answer JA!)
2.Who was with you? Lance
3.How did you find out that you were pregnant? I took a pregnancy test.
4.What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Lance and I were so excited.
5.Who was the first person you told? Lance of course, but then I think I told Meisha.
6.Did you plan to get pregnant? Yes!
7.Did you tell everyone else right away? Yes, we were too exicted to keep it a secret!
8.Was everybody happy for you? Yes.
9.Did you go out and celebrate? We celebrated by just being together and being happy :)
10.Did you want to find out the sex? Yes. My mom kept telling me it was a girl and even bought a cute little girly hat for the baby so I was excited to see what it was really going to be.
11.Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes, we lived in Pocatello then and I worked at Farm Bureau Insurance and the girls there threw me one.
12.Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew that you wouldn't put on your baby? Of course :)
13.How much weight did you gain? 35-40 pounds.
14.Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Hey, I am still trying :).
15.Did you get any stretch marks? Holy Crap yes!! My whole body is now a stretch mark.
16.What did you crave the most? Subway sandwiches! Anything fried in grease made me gag and dry heave.
17.Did you crave anything crazy? I will have to ask Lance, he would remember better. He was always getting me things that I craved!
18.Who or what got on your nerves? I was pretty laid back during my pregnancy.
19.Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Nope not during the pregnancy.
20.Where and when did you go into labor? EIRMC. I was supposed to be induced the next day but Mason decided that he wanted to come before that!
21.Did your water break? No.
22.Who drove you to the hospital? Meisha. Lance was driving down to Pocatello at the time turning in a paper that was due for school.
23.Who was in the room when you gave birth? I remember a ton of people being in the room, but I was a little out of it because they were trying to put me under and I remember big bright lights!
24.Did you go early or late? I was pretty much right on time.
25.How long were in labor for? My labor was complicated and all together probably about 4 hours.
26.Did you have any drugs for the pain? An epidural and then I know they gave me some more I just don't know what it was!
27.Did you go natural or have a C-section? As natural as I could with people pushing on my belly and ripping Mason out of me! (literally)
28.What was your first reaction after giving birth? I was really confused. They took him out of the room and handed him to the NICU nurses and I had no idea what was going on. I also remember thinking, "I hope he doesn't have red hair!"
29.How big was the baby? 9 pounds 0 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long
30.Did your husband cry? I am not sure, I was doing enough crying for the both of us!
31.What did you name the baby? Mason Lance Cannon
32.Does his name have any significant meaning? He is named after his daddy and kind of mine too. My brothers all had our dad's name as their middle name and I wanted to do that too. Lance's name is Lance Mason Cannon, so we just reversed it. Ever since high school I wanted to name my baby Mason, so it worked out pretty good :)
33.Did you have any visitors? Yes my whole family was there, on both sides!
34.Did the baby have any complications? Yes. He had a prolapsed cord that cut off the oxygen to him and they did CPR becuase he wasn't breathing. Still to this day I cry when I think about it. I couldn't look at Mason for at least a couple of months after he was born without bawling my eyes out, I almost lost my little Mason. (yes my eyes are tearing up right now) We were both in the hospital for about a week. I remember having Lance sleep in my bed because I was so cold from going into shock and needed a blood transfusion that helped a lot! I really think I have a little bit of PTSD from that day.
35.How old is your baby today? 9 years, he will be 10 years in May.
36.When is the next one coming? When I have grandbabies (so not for a very very long time!)
37.If you could, would you do it all over again? Yes. Mason is probably my hardest child, but I have to take the time to sit back and think of what I could have lost.

PINEWOOD DERBY
Mason and Taylor competed in the Pinewood Derby for scouts tonight. They did such a good job helping Lance make their cars. Mason painted his pink and had Darth Vader as the driver and Taylor painted his blue with pink polka dots and had a lego guy as the driver. Taylor came in first in the Wolves. Overall Taylor came in fourth place and Mason came in fifth place. We are so proud of them.

Okay here is the real story now... The race was really these three against each other! You would think it was their boys that were so excited, but we all know it's really about the dads. You should have seen their faces light up when their car won! Lance was just proud that "his cars" beat Doug and Nick! It was a very exciting night hearing these guys yelling and cheering!

WHAT A BUSY WEEKEND!
Lance's family came down this weekend so we could watch Joel compete in a snowshoe race up at Kelly's Canyon. He came in third place and won a lot of "swang" (that is for you Joel)! It was only 19 degrees, there would be no way that I could run in that cold of weather!
It is fun to see Lance, Joel and his dad get together. They got new hunting back packs for Joel's birthday and spent hours trying them out. I am grateful that Lance's dad will buy him all the hunting equipment! Karen taught me how to do some cooking this weekend also, which everyone knows I need!

After Lance's family left we watched my brother's kids overnight so he and his wife could get out of town for her birthday. It was a fun weekend and the kids had a blast and got to see cousins from both sides. It is so nice to have family around.
LET'S BUILD TOWERS
When I study for tests I write everything down on note cards and then quiz myself. I had so many note cards after my finals just lying around the house that the kids decided to put them to good use!
They were having a contest to see who could build the tallest tower, I think Mace won! Taylor and Lexi did a fantastic job too! Lysa and I were the judges.

Mace and Taylor spent hours upon hours just building towers. They even built a hotel and then got some of their little Lego guys to put in it. Very creative boys!
