SOCCER TIME!

We are absolutely loving soccer this year! The boys are finally on the same team (Taylor made it by 10 days). I love when they are the same team, they really cooperate with each other well.


This was Taylor hitting it off of his head, what was funny is that Mason just did it prior to Taylor too!


Mason dribbling the ball down the field. Mason can run down the field faster than anyone I know, when he is determined to stop the other team from even getting close to scoring!


Taylor never gives up and is always going full steam ahead! Last game he played the whole time without any breaks and ran constantly. It made me tired just watching him!

Mason loves to be the goalie! He is doing a great job at it too.

Sometimes it is hard for us to tell them apart when they are out on the field. If they didn't have numbers on their jerseys I would never get them right! The team that they are up against was the team that Taylor was on last year. You could see him out there talking to his favorite person, from the other team, Baylor, that he has known since preschool.

EASTER

Normally for Easter we go to Salmon, but this year we stayed in Idaho Falls. I must say that we like the Salmon Easter egg hunt much better because there are not so many kids! We went to the Ucon Easter egg hunt and showed up like 10 seconds too late so the boys only got a few eggs, but Lance took Alyssa to her side and she hit the jackpot!

After the hunt the boys went and had their tryouts for baseball. They had to get up in front of everyone and try to hit 5 pitches, field and throw. I was more nervous than they were, but they were so awesome! I am so proud of them!


Coloring eggs!


After we had all of the eggs colored I went to break one to eat it and it was RAW! I swear I boiled the eggs, so I looked in the fridge and pulled out the other carton and we found out that we had colored the wrong set of eggs! Now we have pretty eggs for every day use!

On Sunday, we went to Ed's house for lunch and to have a family Easter egg hunt! There were over 400 eggs and they had a great time finding them! It was so nice to hang out with my family, the kids played for hours while the girls played cards (whacky six, and no I wasn't cheating I just have very fast hands and processing skills, sorry Meish maybe next time you can try to beat me!) and the guys talked "shop".

This was Taylor's favorite egg that he found!

Alyssa wanted to wear her Easter dress all day long because she wanted to show Aunt Meisha, and she knew Meisha would think she was pretty (that is what she told me).

Mason decided to use this bucket on more than one occasion!

No I am not really taking all of Alyssa's candy! We are just giving them the candy and putting the plastic eggs up so we can use them again next year.

As adult you always stand around watching how much fun the kids are having, so this year we decided to have an adult Easter egg hunt. In order to play you had to pay five dollars and we put that in the pot and whoever got the egg that said WINNER inside got all of the money! I knew I never had a chance to win, since I am the most unluckiest person when it comes to contests, but Lance on the other hand is one of the luckiest people I know and can win everything!

Alyssa loves Uncle Damon and this is where you will usually find her whenever he is around or making him give her rides in his wheelchair.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

Lance and the boys headed to Salmon last weekend for fun time of steelhead fishing, while Alyssa and I stayed behind for her Ballet/Jazz dance pictures. Mason got to reel one in and it was huge! Taylor didn't have too much luck with the fishing. While Lance and Joel were fishing Grandpa Cannon took Mace and Tay shooting. They were shooting Lance's 22 when Grandpa told Taylor, "I bet you can't hit that duck over there!" Taylor took aim and shot and killed the duck! Afterwards they had Taylor call and tell me because they wanted to see my reaction. Needless to say I wasn't too happy about Taylor killing animals, especially when he hasn't been through Hunters Safety yet. I told Lance that Brent was going to get an ear full from me and he said that he already told his Dad to lay low around me for a while! This will be a story that Taylor will remember forever about killing his first duck with Grandpa.

T&A for Mason

Thursday Mason got his tonsils and adenoids out too. I can't believe how well he is doing. I was really nervous that he would be hurting like I did, but so far he is doing fantastic! The first day he came home he just wanted to eat popsicles and ice cream all day long, which he did! I have never seen a kid eat so many popsicles, he ate like 10 of them and had 5 bowls of ice cream just that day we came home. He told me he was so excited to get his tonsils out so he could eat ice cream and play video games all day.

Mason is so cute, he knew he wasn't supposed to eat or drink after midnight so he posted a sign where the cups are so he wouldn't forget!

This is right after Mason got home from the hospital. They gave him a little red bear to cuddle with.

When I woke up this morning I went to check on Mason and found all of them in bed with him playing video games. They might not always get along but they sure do love each other!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSSA!

Alyssa woke up bright and early the morning of her 5th Birthday to a bicycle and other presents. Her boys (which is what she calls Mason and Taylor) gave her a dollar bill, which she was absolutely thrilled about! She told me the night before, "Mom I will stay in my room until you come and get me to see all of my presents!" She was so excited to turn 5!



She was a bit tired that morning, but she sure loved her bike!


This was later on in the day when she was up and ready for her big day.


I took her to the toy store and let her pick out any toy she wanted. She picked out a little white dog that came with a bag to carry it in as well as some art supplies. I told Lance while we were shopping for her presents the week before that she would love that little dog with the bag and he just laughed! I know what toys Alyssa likes all too well! I usually throw a big party with all of her friends, but I was feeling still a little bit run down from getting my tonsils out so next year we will have to have a big bash!

This is just a cute picture of Alyssa on Daddy's motorcycle! She loves to work with Dad in the garage.

I took Alyssa to Dr. Baker's office for her 5 year check-up and Kindergarten shots. She weighed 37 pounds (that is in the 37th percentile) and she was 43.5 inches tall (that is the 72nd percentile). I have never had any of my kids above the 13th percentile with weight or height so I am so proud that she is growing!! She had to get four shots and she didn't even cry, but I could tell they were uncomfortable for her. What a tough little girl. We went out for ice cream cones afterwards. Alyssa you are such a special girl with such a fun personality that can always make your family laugh. We love you!!

NO MORE TONSILS!

This post is just for me so I can remember the worst two weeks ever! I really thought I would be up and back to normal in 4-5 days, but I was badly mistaken! I actually did okay the first day I got them out and the second day too, it wasn't until the 6th day when it actually hit me hard. I was sitting in bed just sitting there staring at nothing and Lance came into the room and just laughed at me. He asked how I was feeling and I said, "I hurt!" He just kept laughing because I was sitting there with my bottom lip sticking out pouting like a five-year-old! He gave me a blessing and that helped so much! I am so grateful that he is able to have the priesthood to help with situations like that. Lance did such a fantastic job taking over as Mom. He got the kids up and ready for school, made lunches, got them off to school, cleaned the house, did laundry, and entertained me and Alyssa during the day. He is such a wonderful husband, thanks Lancey!!

I had so many friends and family bring over dinners, movies, books and took Alyssa so that she wouldn't be bored. I appreciated that so much. I know there were like three days that I can't remember very much and I know I sent out some strange texts, (sorry Katie!) me and narcotic medications don't mix very well. I actually even took a test in one of my classes while very much drugged up and I don't really remember taking it (I am too scared to even see what grade I got on that one!) I am just glad that my tonsils and adenoids are gone!! Mason is going in on Thursday to get his out and I just pray that he does 100% better than me! Thanks again to everyone who took care of me and my family!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!

Taylor came home from school yesterday with some "love notes" that he received from Jessica Cook and Kylee Perkins. They were so cute that I had to post them on our blog. I am sure this will embarrass him when he gets older, but I couldn't help myself. What a ladies man Taylor is! You can click on the image to get a better view. If you notice he put "No" on one and on the other he put "Yes!" I thought he would be kind of shy about these, but he just handed them to me saying look what happened at school today!
